For 11 years I have hated my kitchen.
The 90s era cabinets that I can’t even fit my plates in. The white tile floor that shows all the dirt and doesn’t match the rest of the kitchen. The wall paint that doesn’t match the cabinets or the floor. The layout. The lack of light. You name it and I don’t like it.
I’d like to have a hard conversation sometimes with the sellers as to why they picked out what they did when they did a minor reno right before we bought it. I don’t have the $$$ to rip it out and start over.
But this weekend I was reminded of how little things can sometimes make a big difference and I’m not sure why it took me 11 years to do it.
The cabinets/drawers originally had no hardware other than bronze hinges. The sellers put silver hardware. WTF? That doesn’t match.
So this weekend I took off all the silver hardware and replaced with bronze hardware that now matches the hinges, the faucet, the pantry door knobs/hinges, etc.
What a difference $135 made for the better!
