- Refinery 29: In November 2017, Beautycounter officially endorsed legislation that, for the first time in 80 years, makes significant reforms intended to strengthen beauty laws. S.1113, the Personal Care Products Safety Act, introduced by Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Collins (R-ME) would require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to review at least 5 ingredients or classes of ingredients per year, require the disclosure of ingredients in online and professional salon products and give the FDA the authority to recall products that harm consumers. Beautycounter has worked closely with Senators Feinstein and Collins in crafting the health protective provisions of the bill and leads a coalition of companies in the safer skin care and cosmetic category who support the bill. We will continue to engage lawmakers on this important legislation and will keep you posted on the bill’s progress. You can read more about this on Refinery29 and encourage your Senators to co-sponsor this legislation with our action link here.
